McTimoney Chiropractic
A gentle, non-invasive technique promoting balance, symmetry and optimal function. An effective treatment for horses of all ages and disciplines.
What is McTimoney Chiropractic?
McTimoney is a form of chiropractic which is applied using a series of high-velocity, low amplitude adjustments directly to sites of misalignment.
Misalignment's are skillfully identified by your therapist using palpation of joints and anatomical landmarks throughout your horse's body. The misalignment's are characterised by a subtle change in position of the boney landmark, usually as a result of dysfunction and/ or imbalance in the soft tissues surrounding and attaching to that skeletal area.
What causes misalignment's?
Misalignment's can occur as a result of many reasons some of which include; posture, age, injuries (acute or chronic), trauma as well as simply due to high levels of activity.
Signs your horse may have misalignment's include:
Cold backed
Difficulty on one rein
Changes in behaviour
Muscle asymmetry
Rearing, bucking or bolting
Changes in attitude towards ridden activities
